MOLD INSPECTIONS & TESTING

Mold Inspections and Mold Testing in the Bandera, San Antonio, TX area
Mold damages what it grows on…and the longer it grows, the more damage it can cause. Molds are everywhere, and they are an essential part of our environment. Outdoors they break down dead organic matter. The problem starts when molds accumulate indoors, where molds and their byproducts can become potentially toxic. Indoor mold growth should clearly be prevented.
There are many types of mold, and new species of mold are found regularly. They reproduce by means of microscopic, airborne spores. Mold can start growing indoors when its spores float in from outdoors and land on surfaces that are damp. Exposure to mold by inhaling or touching mold spores can cause allergic reactions and irritation to the lungs, eyes, skin, nose, and throat.
Mold that gets established can eventually destroy the things it grows on, including home furnishings, possessions, and even the structural components of the house. You can prevent damage to your home and furnishings, save money, and avoid health problems, by controlling unwanted moisture intrusion and eliminating potential mold growth. Protect your investment, and your family’s health, by getting a comprehensive mold inspection for your home.
Veteran Home Inspections is certified to inspect and test for mold (MAT1456 and MAT1388). We not only collect samples for laboratory analysis, we conduct a comprehensive inspection of the building to determine sources of moisture or other issues that may be leading to the mold issue in the first place. With years of experience and the right equipment, we can normally point to the source of the issue to allow you to not only address the mold issue, but also fix the cause so it doesn’t come back after remediation. We also have licensed Mold Assessment Consultants (MAC1463 and MAC2124) to write mold remediation protocols and conduct post remediation testing. For all your mold testing needs, call today.
Note: we do not perform repairs or mold remediation. Ethics standards specifically forbid companies from doing mold testing and remediation on the same property. If someone offers to test your home and then remediate anything they find, do not hire this person. Along the same lines, once mold remediation is done, make sure a third party tester is hired to do the clearance testing.
